Though I’ve always known what this expression means, I’ve never really looked further into its meaning, until now.Wikipedia identifies mentorship as personal development relationship in which a experienced or more knowledgeable individual helps a experienced or less knowledgeable person.If I were to convert this into a more Christ-like meaning, I would establish mentorship as a development relationship in which a mature Christian helps a mature Christian in regions where in actuality the mentor has been tried,, and has succeeded. I also wish to put that Christian mentorship is founded on the Word of God.Of course the Word of God becomes alive to us through our particular experiences. I offered her a godly and assistance and she said that I did not understand what she was going through and that I did not really care about her. And so I asked her, “So what do you want me to complete for you?” And she could not answer me. I then told her, “I can’t do much since I am not there with you. I also can not offer you a place to keep because I don’t even have my own personal place.” Then she said, “Well then you’re not the best person to discuss to.”This is what I am speaing frankly about. We have to be obvious as to what we can and can not do. Had I overextended myself to this teenager, I’d have added more to her hurt.Lastly, like a advisor, you have to remember that you can not be pouring from others more than what you are taking in.
